Retention follows the published schedule for each data type, its purpose, legal duties, fraud prevention, billing, security, disputes, and active services. Hotshot College does not keep sensitive evidence merely because storage is available.
Different records have different periods
Public business-source snapshots may be kept as dated history. Account and preference data is kept while needed for the service. Claim and dispute audit records may need a longer period to prove what happened. Uploaded identity evidence has a shorter, controlled lifecycle unless an active case or law requires preservation.
Deletion and holds
A valid deletion request removes or de-identifies eligible data. Active litigation, law-enforcement preservation, fraud review, chargeback, tax, accounting, or dispute holds can pause deletion for the affected record.
